Individual Therapy
Each one of us has something very special within us that can help us heal from our emotional wounds and traumas and lead us to a more fulfilling, free and joyful life. When we begin to listen inward and trust our deepest knowing, we can open ourselves to truth and self-love and live from a more authentic and integrated place. I have immense respect for how we overcome life’s obstacles and challenges.
As a therapist, I am here to facilitate your journey with compassion, safety and support as you navigate your path. I work with folks in a collaborative manner, holding space for more authentic to connection to self, nature, emotion, and others.
Through deep listening, we work together to find more peace, balance and intimate knowing and connection to self and others.
Modalities
I am trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy). I also have over 30 years of meditation experiences and have studied with different indigenous healers which also informs my clinical practice.
-
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.
-
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body-oriented, evidence-based therapy developed by Dr. Peter Levine to treat PTSD, chronic stress, and trauma by focusing on bodily sensations (soma) rather than just thoughts or emotions. It works by helping individuals release trapped, self-protective, and defensive responses in the nervous system through "bottom-up" processing, such as titrating (breaking down) traumatic memories to prevent overwhelm and utilizing "resourcing" to build stability.
-
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an evidence-based, non-pathologizing psychotherapy developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz that views the mind as composed of multiple sub-personalities or "parts". It focuses on healing wounded parts (exiles) and calming protective parts (managers/firefighters) by accessing a compassionate, core "Self" to restore internal balance and harmony.
-
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based cognitive-behavioral therapy designed to treat intense emotional dysregulation, self-harm, and personality disorders by balancing acceptance and change. It teaches four core skill sets—mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
